Art Nouveau (1890 - 1915)

Art Nouveau marked a radical departure from traditional jewelry design. Artists and jewelers sought inspiration from nature, incorporating flowing lines, organic forms, and dreamlike imagery into their work.

Materials such as enamel, opal, moonstone, and glass were favored for their color and luminosity. Unlike earlier periods that emphasized gemstone value, Art Nouveau celebrated design and artistic expression.

The result was jewelry that blurred the boundary between fine art and adornment.
